FAQ

Mowing fortnightly during warmer months allows the grass to maintain an ideal height, preventing it from becoming too long and stressed. Monthly mowing during cooler months reflects the slower growth rate, allowing the lawn to recover while still keeping it tidy. Adjust mowing frequency based on grass growth patterns.

Fertilize your lawn in early spring and early fall for most grass types. These periods provide nutrients for growth and recovery. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package, considering your specific grass type and local climate. Avoid fertilizing during extreme heat or drought conditions.

To control weeds in your lawn, practice regular mowing to keep the grass at an optimal height. Apply pre-emergent herbicides in early spring to prevent weed seeds from germinating. Spot-treat existing weeds with post-emergent herbicides or manually remove them, ensuring to target the roots. Maintain a healthy lawn through proper watering and fertilization.

The best time to water plants is early morning. It's cooler, reduces water loss to evaporation, and allows plants to absorb moisture before the heat of the day. It promotes healthy root growth and minimizes the risk of fungal diseases by allowing foliage to dry during daylight hours.

Trim hedges regularly to maintain their shape and neatness. The frequency of trimming depends on the hedge type and desired appearance. For formal hedges, trim 2-3 times per year during the growing season. Informal hedges may require trimming once or twice per year, typically in spring and/or late summer.

Prune roses during late winter or early spring, before new growth emerges. Wait until the last frost has passed in your area. Remove dead, damaged, or weak branches. Cut back about one-third of the overall height, aiming for an open center to promote airflow and healthy growth.

Prune fruit trees during their dormant season, preferably in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Avoid pruning during freezing temperatures. Remove dead or diseased branches, and shape the tree by thinning crowded areas to improve air circulation and sunlight penetration.
